It's a farce... that's for damn sure.
As long as we have 2 party politics (us vs. them), and Citizen's United, the moderate Republicans who voted for him will do so again. Look no further than Congress. The MAGA Trumpers will obviously support him no matter what he does.

Initiate term limits, provide same government insurance program and only while in office, eliminate the electoral college.
To get back on track elect a Democratic President and achieve a Democratic majority in both the House and Senate. I'm not a hardline Democrat but if Trump is re-elected his obsession with power will continually accelerate, probably planning the biggest shock and awe use of military might on some near defenseless nation already. If we have a divided congress nothing will get done. if we have either a Democratic or Republican majority in congress with an opposite party President nothing gets done. If the majority of both the House and Senate are Republican with Trump as President we are doomed. The only way to stop a bully is to publicly humiliate them with either physical or verbal confrontation to the point that they just scream and babble, break down completely and curl up in the fetal position. There is an additional problem with Trump because he is a likely a below normal intelligent narcissist, probably in the malignant category, which mean he has no limits of what he will do even if publicly humiliated. If a Democrat is to be President or a Republican other than Tramp they will have to humiliate Trump in the debates, by knowledge, presidential behavior that keeps him on the defensive. I would like the moderators to control the microphones and only open the mike of the person speaking and cut it off if they don't stop taking at the end of their time limit. Camera's only on the person speaking so distracting antics aren't seen. No Trump supporters here that want to join in?

I want them to eliminate debates all together and just televise town halls for each candidate. The debates are a stupid format for trying to relay a plan or strategy on complex topics to the voters. It draws ratings for the networks but does a disservice to the country.

Not likely there would be national coverage for town hall meetings and most of the questions would be soft ones but I agree the debates are barely worthwhile to watch. Unfortunately for a large part of the nation debates are the only way to attempt to identify differences. I think the key is changing the debate format.
Perhaps start with summation of what they all tout in the town hall meetings--What are you going to do that will impact taxation, global warming, environment management, medical care, foreign aid and relations, infrastructure, improving bi-partisan cooperation, strengthening the middle class, balance the budget, reduce the deficient, etc. Perhaps post bullet points behind them so we can see each of their positions. I agree that as is the debates are chaos and that is the network's failing. However, I want to see side by side comparisons of the different points of view, how each handles the pressure of surprise questions, and if they look and naturally act like a President, whatever that is. There are debate rules. All candidates agree to the rules beforehand. The problem is they are not enforced. If a candidate interrupts have a debate chair person that only enforces the rules, pounds a gavel when they are out of line and if that doesn't work cut off their microphone or only open the mic of the speaker. If they don't answer the question ask them if there was a reason or where in their response was the answer to the question. Cut the time allotted for responses in half. Sounds impossible to get to anything that is effective from the current debates but they can't continue to be conducted as they have been. One of key traits of a good leader is the ability to boil down complex problems to a short concise explanation that can clearly be acted upon---what, where, when, why, how. Any candidate that is not able to do so is not qualified to be President, IMO.

Major fail on Coronavirus situation. We need national leadership, not what we currently have.

As for the pandemic response. Trump's been bad. But I believe anyone would have been bad under similar circumstances. Obama had a planning/response team but there is no crystal ball to see how well anything they recommended would have been implemented. I certainly would have preferred Trump keep the team. But I would have preferred Obama do things that he promised and didn't deliver on as well.I am about as "down the middle" as it comes when politics are involved and will give credit (or blame) when due. I hope it reads that way. I want Trump out of office because he's an embarrassment. But I would be lying if I said I voted for Hillary in the last election. Was forced to vote third party, and with the nomination of a Biden, it looks like the Democrats have learned nothing. My unfortunate prediction to stick to the title of the thread, is 4 more years of the spray tans.

Not to mention the economy went from great to worst in recent history. People who were hurt financially and physically during these 4 years will vote to get him out. I think that number has grown to the tipping point.

We'll see. I think people will not attribute the economy to him but to CV19. Rightly so. The economy would have tanked no matter the administration. Businesses can't close for 45-90 days without cutting jobs and earnings expectations. Small businesses likely shutter. I would have rather than take any ppp loans. Government is terrible at administering these types of programs. See the stimulus/recovery payments, unemployment, etc. Unless you are big business the money flows downhill slow as molasses.
But I could be wrong. November is not far away. I'm betting a lot of Democrats don't even go to polls due to CV19. Republicans will vote under any conditions.
