Did the doctor prescribe you anything for your symptoms back then?
I ask because people during covid19 mostly went to get tested when they had symptoms and wanted to check if it was coronavirus.
Yet doctors haven't been really prescribing medications for the symptoms like they did for the flu (neither had a "cure" available) but hospitalization rates had to be influenced by the "go home and come back if you get too fucked up" and I would really like to know why they didn't even try until people were very sick....

Doctors evaluate the severity of symptoms to determine if the the individual meets the medical admission criteria. It is also necessary for insurance purposes. There is no reason to use beds for individuals that can be adequately treated otherwise.
