Dealer says that they will paint the fender, replace the handle and try and remove the scuff marks - and this is suppose to be a brand new car!!!
Is it really a new car after being repaired before delivery? (Not Happy Jan!!!)
I wouldn't be happy either. I hope that the dealer has given you a courtesy car while your 40d is being repaired.

Whether it's a new car or not now that it has to be repaired is debatable. You could always reject it and demand another one that doesn't need to be repaired before delivery, or you could ask for some form of credit or compensation.

Either way, it's not a good position to be in.

Quick question guys.
For those that 'upgraded' their alloys to 20" on a new car purchase, did you get the spare allow/tyre upgraded to 20" as well? My understanding is that this normally doesnt happen unless u push for it. (Tight-ass stealers!)

E70s only have a space-saver spare and only if don't have the third-row seats. If you have the third-row, no spare at all.

^^ as Fraser would tell you tis not even an option in the E53 either, ie: my X5 Sport has staggered 19's combo and a 17" spare.

So someone was telling you porkies re: 20" spare? lol

At least the E53 has a full-size spare. That's a hell of a lot more useful than having a space saver, so no spare at all.

Ditto that... I'd hate to be a few hundred Kms from home with a puncture and RFT's or a space saver lol

Down in my neck of the woods, that's a good enough reason not to buy an E70. The only real options are to carry a full-size spare in the cargo area, or on a roof rack, neither of which are ideal. The only other thing is the factory rear-wheel carrier that hangs off the rear bumper. It looks a bit dicky IMO and complicates the access to the rear hatch.

Finally picked up the wife's 40D on Monday. All issues sorted...Happy wife, happy life
WoW!!! Love the twin-turbo... power on tap off the line.
Digging through the deep menu options. Anyone have the internet option and got it working?
Have managed to do over 120kms in 3 days... so far getting it at high-8's L/100 freeway and high-9's / low-10's city... Better than the 18's in the Territory <gulp>
Bought the rearseat-protector cover for the carseats. Fits well. Got the boot protector and boot lid protector.. (should be standard)
Have got a few mods in the works...

Good to hear that your problems have been resolved. Ironic that you mention your Territory, just when Ford finally bring out a Territory diesel. They missed the boat with that one big time ... nearly ten years too late!
