The resale value of the 3.0i/30i is pretty poor already and the release of the 35i can only add to its woes.

I hagling for about 2 weeks in early May for 7 seat 3.0d before i book LCI, asking for $110k drive away but the sale ppl thought that i was crazy, their final offer to me was $115k, around $10k discount (while some of the member can get $20k discount !!)
so i have to go for LCI and wait for september delivery.....

no configurator available for LCI yet ..but there's a picture of an LCI model at the top so must only be a matter of days away ..lets face it, not much point configuring something that you can no longer order ...come on BMW Aus ..lift your game ..... anybody from BMW Aus there? Bueller? Bueller ?

Have now done 22000 in our 07 X5, have been told that oil must be changed (even though the car does not ask for it) Auto Classic quoted $350 is that good? Is it necessary to do now.

Regards

David

I have the same model and serviced it early before a trip at 17,000 now done 40,000 so that is 23,000 rang dealer he said they recommend service at max of 25,000 but they had had some people wait till notified at 35 to 40k.
Apparently the service warnings operate on the efficiency of the vehicle not the quality of the oil, so if you do mainly longer runs will have longer service intervals. Sonds common sense to me 25,000 max interval

$350 is about right given yours is a diesel...we paid just over $250 for a oil and filter change for our X3 3.0si at our dealer a few months ago.

Do you really think 25000 km is an appropriate change interval !?!?! Your oil is likely so thin and worn that you are damaging your engine at this point- compared to how protective new oil would be.

I recommend ~7500 miles, 12000 km. (Unless it isn't you car and you'll be turning it back in after the warranty is done.)

Boy, I'd love to see a used oil analysis of someone running 40k km on that oil!

Is Auto Classic a BMW dealer or independent?
