From what I remember the oil seperator would make both banks smoke since the intake manifold is shared by both banks on the v8.

Or maybe it just leaks into one side better.:dunno:

Do you have a Fan Clutch Nut Wrench

This can be helpfull holding the water pump pully while removing the fan nut. (reverse thread)

I got mine from elpaso tools, but there are many others on ebay.

This makes the job a little...

It could be leaking from uptop

Anything leaking up by the trans thermostat will look like its leaking from the cooler. See if the leak is running down any coolant hoses from above and colloecting at the cooler.

Got the Estimate back. Transfer Case. Shocking :)

Just the transfer case is needed.

Should have known with all the failures out there.

Any one delt with a front differential problem?

I have a hard click coming from the front left wheel area when I accelerate hard. I think the splines are rounding off.

I just dropped it off at my indy. Hoping for the best.

Ditto on the driver side valve cover being PITA to put back on

I had to keep my hand under the vc and re-adjust the gasket when it tries to fall off. All while trying to navigate the cover past hoses etc.

If your heater exchange it cracked, that will do it.

I wrapped a paper towel around the thermostat (part 15)and ran the truck for a little. No drips.

The then took off the paper towel...

I think part 15 is leaking.

It drips down the line and collects at part 11 (oil cooling pipe).

At least on my truck, that was the problem. Here is a good look at the part.

Are you leaking antifreeze?

If you are leaking anti freeze, it might be the thermostat.(not water pump thermo)

Hose 12 (Oil return hose) in the diagram is probably gone too. You cant see it because it is under the intake. But I don't know how you would replace it without taking off the intake.
