yea the pano roof is definatly the way to go! My 06 3.0i has it and everyone who rides in my X5 is impressed with the sunroof. I just only wish it went back the whole way.

UPDATE on buzzing noise from inside the X5

Well my X came back from the dealership today and the buzzing/creaking noise that was coming from the the shifter area turned out to be that the heat shield under the SAV near the center console...
