It seems to me none of the car mags have done this comparo yet,

why does e70 get better mpgs than e53
can your x5 experts explain to me,
why the new e70 gets nearly 18-20 mpgs, which is a huge improvement over the e53 which usually got around 15-16 mpg...
can anyone shed what is so different...

I understand the E70 as model year 2007 in USA
but was it actually released in 2006? If so, what year?

Both the X5 and GL were introduced in the same year, with about the same price tag of around 50K, however the GL has depreciated in price so much more than the X5,...

I was at the dealers yesterday and he had an 06 e53 for about 25K and a 07 for about 35K,
