I'd start with the simple stuff first... check the battery, alternator charge level.... these cars seriously have a brain fart when the electrics aren't being fed...

I used Bilsteins and Eibach (from memory) springs and they were pretty much spot on to standard ride height. It meant no issues with resetting ride...

You can actually install the more modern seats (eg from F series) into the E53. I've seen it done and there is a company that does the harness adapting so that you get the functions...

Keep in mind that with the Nav you have no audio inputs at the dash so you will likely need a (eg Fakra) cable that runs from the boot to the rear of the unit you choose.
