low quality fuel would more likely set off the knock sensors instead of the crank position sensor. yeah, it _might_ be the lambdas but the fault code should really throw up something a little more...

a set of dws06 fitted on my 211 rims for the summer. only just noticed offset being quite different than on my winter wheels. they actually sit *in* the wheel arches now.

it's not just bmw tho. a lot of manufacturers have over the past twenty years taken to discouraging owners from carrying out any kind of work on their vehicles. vw made it a 90 minute workshop job...

i don't think the E70s had the N54 engine at all....

i don't think the E70s had the N54 engine at all. they should all be single turbos. valve covers, water pump, turbo seals, wastegates. that's pretty much all i'm aware of on those engines.

not sure the E70s even came with the M54 engine. i always thought they were all N52s and then N55s. every engine is a compromise. the N52s have the lowest number of things that go wrong on the engine...
