I wish the US car configuration was up and working..

I found a dealer who is ready to take my order on a "112" (ready to go into production vehicle..) and I'm not able to pick my trims.

The UK car configurator lets you pick interior and exterior colors but not the other details in the car like wood, aluminum, carbon trim...

Kind of annoying..

Do you know what week your build date is? I currently have one on order for week 41, which is the first week of October and my dealer says that I'm getting the first car that they can spec out.

All I know is, order status 112 means it's getting ready to go into production in the next week or so. Cars are usually delivered around 45 days after 112 status closes.

So sometime around late September, early October is reasonable.

The caveat being, dealers can put a priority status on cars that are "pre-sold" and being built for customers that pushes the build to the front of the line, over say, a dealer spec built car..

In other words, if the dealership is building a car for you, your car gets built first. I would reasonably suspect a late Sept. delivery..

That's because BMW has not done a Press /media drive event for X5 M yet. Only X6 M. No drive, no write. ;)

I see, well if the car is coming this year then the sooner the better. I saw the ordering screen at the dealer last weekend and I believe it was in status 047.

I think most dealers are getting a launch car any day as they have been sitting in port for a while awaiting release.

Given that the first reviews and advertisements are finally hitting newsstands, my guess is that the two vehicles will be added to the main BMW USA site any day now (hopefully by the end of week).
