I meant the E46M wheel that's on the 4.6. That shouldn't be there. That still needs airbag replaced.

It's the same wheel as the sport package wheel. So it's a bad day for anyone with that wheel.

But my E30 doesn't have an IED at chest level.

Gotcha, have never driven E53 with an E53 wheel.

At least the silver lining is that it won't be a giant hassle when at dealer for replacement. (Whenever that is.)

There is link on bimmerforum stating that early production 3.0 and 4.4 are not affected (up to 03/03 and 02/03 respectively) while 4.6 seems not affected at all.

I bet the death toll will rise from previous accidents if people dig in and reexamined fatalities like they did with the GM ignition switch issue. This is hardly surprising.

My X hit the list on June 1st, shows "Recall INCOMPLETE. Remedy not yet available".

Should read "new airbags not yet available".
