SOLVED!...NEW VIDEO 04/03/17...Suspension noise-need ID
rear axle maybe? shock?
its coming from rear left...its embarrassing how loud it is...in the video, im driving around 5-10mph..increases with speed, however, its not constant, it seems worse under load and sometimes you cant hear anything for a few seconds sometimes you think you drag a piece of plastic/metal on the ground.. very annoying..ive had a small creaking noise on that side since last summer but went away for some time...now since ive been playing around with ride heights, it went crazy...so loud that id rather drive my other car til I figure out whats wrong..... took the wheel off but nothing seems suspect...no leaks, cracked rubber or anything.... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FMN0...ature=youtu.be |
Could be the shocks. Mine made similar noise just days before I converted to coilovers....It's gone now.

Thats interesting thanks for your insight....mine have never been changed, 145k miles. Gotta look into refreshing the whole suspension I guess...
|
On my work computer I can't hear it as well - but creaking or popping kind of noise maybe the rear swing arm ball joints if that's what you're hearing - articulating the suspension a bit might have put more load on them and now you are hearing their age -
You have 145k miles? I thought your LeMans was like 50k? Lol - |
It used to be lol
I've been driving it a lot... |
Oh shoot I confused your LeMans with StephenVA's who's has ultra low miles - you were the guinea pig for the Dynavin N6 which convinced me to get one
|
Yup, never knew you got one! How do you like it?
I somehow lost the mini sd card with the navi...so after I get another one I doubt it'll ever come out of its slot again! |
When I say convinced me to get one I mean I'm planning to, eventually LOL
|
Rocking the car side to side replicates the noise on the road...kind of... What could it be?
It's driving me insane....sounds like a WW2 rusty tank. https://youtu.be/n0uOq2lgJ2Q |
