People who think Toyo is a cheap tire??? Need to get out of their little world. Go to an M3 foruma and Toyo is the PREFERRED street tire on some of those forums. The level of ignorance on this board is surprising.

It's like Oprah not knowing a place like Costco existed. Just amazing. The equipment they have is better than most tire shops. The people do tires all day, unlike other tire shops that do tune-ups and alignments. I just want opinions on TIRES.

Note that the set asawadude listed are 19s, which are both OEM V rated. Both the Latitudes and Diamari in 20s are rated "W". If anything, the Latitude is slightly better since both front and rear on the Latitude are rated at "106W" as opposed to the Diamari having a rating of "102W" at the front and "106W" at the rear.

Bridgestone Turanza's
 

I'm surprised that no one mentioned the Bridgestone Turanza ER30's. These came stock on some 4.4's with Sport Package and 19" rims. A pretty high performance tire IMO, though I can't compare them to any other tires on the X5's. One turn off is the wear rating which is the lowest of all the spec'd tires for the 4.4. (See below) I don't know if that makes them necessarily higher performance or not, but for certain they do wear pretty quick and from what I can tell, they are the most expensive tire option for that car.

So Aus.... did you finally buy tires or what????? What did you end up getting?

I think I'll get the Latitudes. I also think I have more time than my dealer said I have, after crawling under the truck to check out the inner edge of the tires. It's a down, but still has a fair amount of tread left, especially since it rarely rains here. Hell, they probably grip better now that the tread is down a bit.

I'll probably flip the tires from side to side get get some more miles out of them. I'm hoping to save on a set of tires before my lease is up.

Aus - if you have Diamaris, you can't rotate them. They are right side/left side specific...

Yeah, I realize that. If the shop will do it, I'll go through with it. If I can get another 10k miles out of this set, I'll get some new ones and they should have enough tread for the lease return. I HATE having to buy new tires to return a car or get dinged for low tread.

I know they'll be a big poo poo of rotating them, but it's the same rubber from side to side. Just the tread pattern is different, and since I don't drive this car too hard and there's minimal rain here, I feel OK doing it for a little while.

Are we talking about replacement tyres for the 4.6 here ?

Latitude Michelin are winter tyres. Don't you have special wheels for winter ?

Michelin Latitude are NOT winter tires...they are all-season. There's a difference.
