Latitude Michelin are winter tyres. Don't you have special wheels for winter ?

I think you are wrong when you say Latitude Tour HP are winter only tires.
As far as I know Latitude Tour HP designed as All Season Tires.

" Two different tread compounds are precisely placed to deliver a great balance of wet, dry, and snow traction, treadwear and fuel economy. "

The rest you can read on their website, here is direct link:

OK, sorry for the misunderstanding, I thought it wasn't available in the 4.6 tyre size...

Anyway, I don't consider this kind of tyre because we don't have any "winter" season on my island...
I think you will have less sporty behaviour and more tread wear than specific summer tyres (like the Diamaris)... but if you need the winter charateristics, thank's for buying french !!!

The Latitude is available in the 4.6/4.8is sizes and those Latitude SHOULD outlast most summer tires (which usually have softer compound) like the Diamaris (wear rating for the Latitude is 440 compared to 220 for the Diamaris).

Any Idea if 20" Staggered wheels set with Latitude tires will fit 3.0i?

Yes they will fit fine.

Just an update on this.

I finally got around to "flipping" the tires from side to side, but it was too late. The Diamari's were pretty worn on the inside.
I went with Toyo's since they are OEM for the Toureg and Cayanne Turbo. Best of all, they were $530 with tax (8.25%) and installed!!! Costco was $375 for a single Diamaris + tax. The ride is the same and the Toyo's are quieter. We'll see how they last.

Just wanted to let you guys know there are other options that work well.

I'm not sure i want to jump into this thread but man, oh man, there's a lot of dis-information in this thread. Suggest people have FACTS if you're going to state thing like facts..Latitdes as winter tires (all seasons), recomendation of pure winter tires for a staggard fitment on a 4.6.unbelievable..BTW, Toyo is not std tire for Touaregs or Cayenne. I've owned both, and both eat tires like I've never seen. Typically fitments have been Pirelli and Continental. And an earlier reference to the speed rating of W and then reference to 106, here the W is the speed rating and the 106 is the LOAD rating, i.e how much weight the tire is designed to handle. With that said if you like the Toyo's god bless. There are many suitable tires for our X's, as we come no where near the abilities of the tires under standard driving. For all of you who think the Diamaris is the cat's ass, explain why in a recent road and track test, a 4.8is with the std fitrment Diamaris only pulled .78G's on the skidpad but had the widest biggest tires in the test? Worst rating of all the SUV's tested except the Land Rover I believe.....but interestingly, fastest thru the slalom...wierd huh????

[quote=2002Silver4.6is]The Yokohama AVS ST's seemed to wear quickly for me. I went through a set in under 20k miles. (Normal driving, nothing crazy!)

I really do like the Toyo's. I swear they are not loud! Mine were not skinny little tires either, 285's. I put about 10k miles on them.[/quote
i have the toyo's on my too. after 12k miles they not loud at all .i will post some pic how it look after 12k miles.(275-40-20 and 315-35-20)

My new Toyo's are quieter than my worn Diamaris.

This was about the most intelligent post in this entire thread.
