Nice... before you placed the pics i went ahead and tried black tape last Friday just to see if that would help and YES it did. The noises are way LESS now.. i will definately try your idea better. Where did you get your felt tape from? I will remove the black tape and replace it with felt tape instead. Thanks again for the pics. You should get an award form X5 world for your support really :thumbup: please advise.. ;)

... about your question? i will check mine and let you know... one thing i noticed on mine is that i am missing one of the side rubber squares on the sides pic #2. One side does not have the rubber.. i am sure thats not helping at all.

I think that's the way the latch opening is designed... mine also has a rubber foot on the left, and a metal one on the right.

As for the sticky-backed felt, it comes in little sheets (like 3"x5" maybe). I think I picked it up at my local hardware store. I'm going to look for some more, so if I find the exact kind I used, I'll let you know.

Anyone knows the part number for this Rubber stopper???? I don't have any there, that's why mine has been rattle a bit.

Same exact problem. I had the dealership tighten the screws in the hatch but it now only happens on certain bumps; for me its when both my rear wheels hit the bump. If only the right wheel hits it, it wont do it but if the left or both than it does.

I'm going to try this felt tape thing tomorrow. I hope it works. Its real annoying on those nights when you drive home with the radio off.

** By the way, is there supposed to be a 2nd rubber stopper on the right side of the latch, or are we only supposed to have the one on the left? (see pic 3) **

Is this the only areas you put the felt tape?

These freaking rubber stopper is sale at BMW dealer for $34.00 buck for each, part# left and right are 51710015967 and 51710015968. This is crazy. Anyone here placed this rubber thing with something else? 34.00 each and it fall off without notice, this is not worth to buy.
