The E93 has better storage than one might suspect. If I'm careful I can fit my laptop bag in the trunk and one, sometimes even two of my legs in the cabin.

Sadly I'm not joking about the laptop bag. That's all I can get in the trunk.

Not bad. The X5 should provide at least 25% more storage. So maybe a fanny pack in there with your laptop bag.

This spring I was picking my kid up from orchestra rehearsal and saw a guy trying to fit a cello into his i8. Didn't happen.

So more details on my 4.8is now that I've been driving around a few weeks.

Name: Panzermaus (I name all my cars)
Colors: Imola Red exterior, black/white two-tone interior
Miles: 088880 as of Sunday.
Observations, coming from an '05 4.4i:

• Holy crap can this thing move.
• Fuel economy matches my E93 M3. Not sure what that says about these cars, but wasn't expected.
• The '06 Nav system is a lot worse than I remember from my '01 740il. Eonon here I come.
• All ZF transmissions are garbage, regardless of condition or care (this is my fourth, all have been awful in the same ways)
• I'm madly in love with the thing.

Ditto. Sounds like a creme beige interior (like my imola red) but the two tone has me confused.

It may be I'm just off on the nomenclature - checking your build thread it looks like we have pretty much identical trucks (stock form, anyway). Oddly enough the color combination on this car caused me to wait almost a full month before contacting the dealer. I spent a LOT of time scouring the web for a LeMans Blue on Black/Titanium finish. Couldn't make it happen. On the other hand, I think I was briefly familiar with every X5 4.8is for sale in the US. :) Now that I've had it a few weeks, I'm absolutely in love with it.
