Also is navigation traffic implemented on the HL? I know that iGo supports it.

What new harness? I don't know about the traffic. I will look into it and let you know.

I have done it this way because the dsp amp does not turn on by just connecting the HL unit. You have to trick the DSP amp to stay on.
I hope this helps for now. Hualingan is sending me a new harness to try it out.
It is unclear to me how this new harness is going to solve the DSP issue. For the DSP amp to turn on and stay on the HL has to send communication on the IBUS every 10 seconds. The amp picks this up and continues to stay on. I'll bet Hualingan thought they needed to send an electrical signal to the amp and hence, a new harness.

Hualingan must have already figured out how to get on the IBUS as they can respond to steering wheel controls. It should be very easy for them to emulate the message required to turn on the amp.

Oh ok, I forgot about that. I received last week half of my order and next week the rest and I was told that the harness will be in this coming half although I don't think the harness will fix the dsp problem. I think the harness they sent me is for the nav equipped cars. They told me that I have to connect to the battery compartment where actually you find the radio for nav cars.
Anyway I can test one new HL unit on my DSP car and see if they fixed it. I will let you guys know tomorrow. You're right though, that's the way they should fix it, on the iBus not with a harness.

When I talk to them they even dont know of this issue or have a solution...!! ??

I love it. No problems at all.

fmgur - can you restate how volume control works in your DSP system? Since you have both the DSP amp and the HL responding to steering wheel volume control changes I don't understand how you adjust the volume.

Not very different than normal. I actually do not touch the MID volume anymore.
So, the MID/DSP volume has a default level when you start the car. That volume might not be enough for you. It depends how high you listen to the radio. The level is ok for me. Now, when you use the steering wheel controls both volumes go up and it feels normal increase. If yo use the HL volume then you increase the input volume for the DSP amp which will cause distortion at the very hich level. In my case I use both. So if I want to listen very loud to music then I lower the volume from HL and increase it from the steering wheel controls.

I went in details because you asked but to be honest I already forgot the way am controlling the volume. It is similar to your home entertainment system if you use TV volume and the receiver volume. I think I mentioned in the DIY, you can take the MID volume potentiometer out and wire it to the ashtray if you think you need that handy.
I haven't had a chance to try the new units yet, tonight I will do it for sure although I do not think they fixed the DSP problem.

I was afraid of this. This is not very exciting for us DSP owners. I really don't want a situation where volume control works this way. It would be nice if we could set the HL at a constant level and have it NOT respond to the steering wheel. I guess I could not connect the HL's can bus interface box, but then I lose the other steering wheel controls as well.

You will not really notice that daisy chain volume setup much. It would have been nice if somebody knows how to setup the default volume to a higher level. So if you have the volume at startup high enough you will not notice a problem at all. So far I am pleased with it.
I just tested the new HL units and the DSP problem is still there. I will follow up with Hualingan.
