What I tried 2 month ago was swapping the brown with blue/white. The red wire seem to be the switched 12vcc but no luck.

I guess you tried it and it works. What year was the X you tried it on? just for reference.
Can you please explain what the two wires do?
So, swap the blue/white with red in the white connector? red goes where blue/w was and vice versa?

Do you actually try this yourself? Does this mean that every HL has this feature already built in?

Good job! I see you didn't use the brackets, how did you make it stay? I know it's tight but after a while will come out if you don't secure it with screws.

For the price and moderness of this system, it makes me sort of wish I had seen this before I got my AVIC F90BT, delt with all the bezel stuff to make it work, having to hack the software to bring it up to 2010 specs, etc. Looks like you guys found a good all-in-one package here. Definately something I'll have to look into when I feel like sinking more money into the 7 since she's the only one left without an A/V system.

Yea I've been thinking about that too, still have a factory head unit.
I think you should consider waiting until the one from tv-in-motion.co.uk comes out
