I hand washed it... before and after... had to drive it in a blizzard to my buddys place... Quick question without starting another thread. Why is my low beam light washers black? I haven't seen another like this.

Trucks still in the damn shop. Just got it back from it being in the shop for 6 days. Drove it home from the shop. Sat in it outside of my house for 2 minutes and realized and the windows didn't work (go up and down), mirrors were stuck closed, and the car would lock/unlock from the fab. I guess it was an electrical screw-up. I love/hate these trucks haha! Mostly love!

lookin good on the lift spencer! can you elaborate on the cold weather ccv system, did you just get the updated insulated parts or is there a more recent version? some guys were posting about dealers installing a heated CCV upgrade, not sure if its all OE parts and was wondering what you had put in!

Haha, I would rather see it on the road than the hoist!!!! It's that time of year though...get everything out of the way so I can enjoy it all summer and not have to worry about touching anything!

Just did the whole BMW replacement kit with the insulated pipes available from ecs here: BMW E53 X5 M54 3.0L > Engine > Emissions > ES#260029 M54 Oil Seperator Kit - E53M4511_61.

I'm not sure if its because my truck has the cold climate package or what, but the system that was on my truck had the insulated pipes and separator. I've never had a problem with the "cheese" factor, and all the pipes were pretty clean. I am pretty good with getting it up to operating temp in the colder months which appears to have helped. Aside from the oil return line (the one that connects the separator to the dipstick tube) which was really really mushy, the rest of the system seemed to be ok....brittle, but still very much functional. I really only changed it because I was already under the hood and have never changed it previously in almost 7 years of owning the X. It was more of a preventative measure than anything.

Next Saturday is round 2 --- Water pump, couple hoses, coolant tank and remainder of rear suspension. I can't wait to drive it come monday afternoon (after alignment); every suspension joint, bushing and link from front to back, top to bottom will have been replaced. The front was done just before the snow flew; finally getting around to the rear....it's going to feel like a new vehicle all over again!

Yesterday, I showed other X5 drivers what forum I am on with license plate frame and stickers.
Then I gave it away today. Getting rid of the bimmers and go back to Asian luxury.
