Bought cheap Aux adaptor that is plug and play with the mk4 nav, basically like the BMW kit but half the price and no aux mounting plate.

Do I need a BMW Bluetooth module, or is there some simple way to do it with an aftermarket setup.

Is it possible to have aux and bluetooth?

Just aux. The bluetooth device utilizes the aux source.

Your 4.8is didn't come with the bluetooth module?

It does, but bluetooth only works for phone. A2D2 or something

Hence why you need the little bluetooth device that plugs into the aux port.

They are easy to find with the search feature. There is a DIY section where there are threads of most anything you would ever want to do to your X5.
