Looks like you found some info about the issue outside the knowledge of your local BMW dealership...

Thanks Quick! Ur the best

These links may be helpful. I found them through google. Copies of docs submitted by BMW to NHTSA acknowledging the recall. If the links do not work you can find them by searching google with the term: "recall campaign 13v-564"

The first result on that search takes you to NHTSA and these docs.

The links did take a while to load on my computer so be patient.

Per the report
the recall applies to - 2006 X5 SAV (all seat types) with these production dates: Dec. 1, 2005 – Sep. 21, 2006

Hope this information is helpful:thumbup:

Did anyone get this recall addressed. It is really starting to piss me off.

SlickGT1 04-28-2014 11:28 AM

Shit, I just looked at these PDFs, and my car fall out of the production range. My car production 09/2005, and the recall is 12/05. This is some bullshit. I have this error constantly now, and it is pissing me off. Anyone have any idea how to get my car in on this recall.

Whitecat 04-28-2014 07:10 PM

Hi Slick, i've sent email to BMW Canada about the issue (as RB reco) never get an answer.
I went to my wife BMW dealer, (she has a 128i) and they did the investigation with my VIN numbers and my car was not part of the lot....

Maybe you can try the dealer and VIN number to check

Still waiting, I wonder what would happen if you just went to the dealer "uninformed" and asked about the warning light?

bmw_jeff_X5 04-29-2014 09:35 PM

The response I got is a 2nd letter will be sent "by May" indicating parts are available and an appointment should be made.
Daka...I did just that back in November....I had to pay $100 to get the official diagnosis and I complained like crazy that it should be covered due to the original recall from 2008. I got an offer of a discount on the replacement from BMW NA. This new recall was known in November by the dealers. I couldn't just simply be told..."sit tight"...."the recall is being expanded and you will receive a letter in January"....nope....I never paid to have it fixed. Let's see what happens in May.

I wonder how the NTSA feels about this...makes you wonder.....

SlickGT1 04-30-2014 02:51 PM

I might have to reach out to NTSA about this. I am seriously getting the airbag light and the over head yellow airbag off light when someone gets out of the seat. If I move the seat around, the lights turn off. INPA recorded this error over 80 times since I last cleared it.
