1. Map stays up when restarting car (dont have to go back thru menus)
2. POI search now
3. Audio sources now go instantly to source, no need to enter "play"
4. Arrow pops up when navigating on smaller screen (but this does not work when nav is selected in HUD)
5. Route line on map is now much clearer
6. Bluetooth connects faster

BTW-
The tech stated he installed ver 25.2 (I asked twice)
RTTI is working, Voice Command is working, evertyhing works great and it was installed in one day.

All my settings are intact, except the 6 preset buttons for the IDrive, they are all gone.

Thanks for the update. I will probably bring in mine for a software update. I also will inquire about the Backup Camera acting up lately. It works intermittently giving me a blank(blue or sometimes black) screen. But nothing major I guess. Otherwise, everything is working properly.

A few more things I discovered w/ update:
7. On the nav screen, you can no longer click the "i" symbol on the left to turn off the icons. Now, it brings up another menu w/ options to turn on/off icons or search for other POI's...not as easy as the previos version, but more options.
8. BLUETOOTH- this is totally redone. You can now select "Start Pairing" in the IDrive (this wasnt possible before) There is also 3-4 new menu options including "Help". Overall, the pairing is quicker on my phone, and the bt connection happens alot faster when you enter the vehicle.
9. The CD interface is totally changed. The CD does not continue playing when you shut off the vehicle anymore.
10. Voice Commands seem to work better.
11. After more time with the system, it appears overall speed is about the same, not faster as I stated above.
12. It appears the transmission shifts at different times than before the update...I need to spend more time driving to determione this as I drove it home during rush hour and it was hard to tell.

Thanks for the update.
I am finally taking the plunge!. I scheduled a software update and Backup camera check next Wednesday. Hopefully, I am doing the right thing based on your positive feedbacks!!!!

The only thing I am not sure about is the changes to the transmission.
The standard mode is a big improvement, but DS mode now is too soft. Its hard to tell the difference between the two modes now.
I used to be able to slide over to DS and it would literally throw my head back against the head rest...now I really dont notice much of a change.

It also looks like my gas mileage took a big hit....I was getting 16.3 consistantly in the city, driving like a mad man.
Now I am at 13 +/- mpg

I noticed on my receipt it says somthing like "TRANSMISSION REPROGRAMMED LINE 10" so I am not sure if this is part of PROGMAN 25.2 or somthing different...in either case I think I liked it better the other way...just need more driving time to tell for sure.
I will say though that the standard mode is much improved, its just DS im not happy with now.

BTW- my build date is Nov/06...so this may fix somthing that is alreadyimproved on later builds.

One more comment:
The update is worth your time, simply for the addition of POI search (imo) and the other minor fixes...BUT...

POI search is poorly implimented...you have to dig down several layers to use it and you also have to know what category they put the POI in. Its a real pain, but its better than nothing.

Yeah, it's better than nothing, I guess. I am holding for any software update upto this point because I try to be on the conservative side and try to get the most stable update available. My build date was 12/1/06 so we are not the far behind. If you will find anything negative between now and Tuesday, please let me know and I will cancel my appointment!!!

Thanks, really apprecaite you sharing your feedback!

When they updated my car to 25.1.1, the steering wheel came down instead of up whenever I turn the ignition off. Setting the seat memory does not return the steering to my preset position either. Did they fix this with the 25.2 version?

I dont have this issue, actually dont have any problems at all (so far, knock on wood). RTTI and Voice commands work fine...overall a great update for me.

When this happened in my vehicle, it was a bigger fix than software. It required a new module for the steering column.

After I picked it up, the tech. had to do one more thing. He started the car, put the steering wheel all the way up, then all the way down, then all the way forward, then all the way back. He then told me to adjust to my taste. It worked great. He said it needed to be "re-calibrated" after the module replacement.
