how long did the update take?

Update took around 5 hours.....nothing else done other than adjust a seal on the drivers door.

so this update is only for people who have Navi in there E70?

I had the update too when the replaced my shift module. It seems a bit quicker, but aside from that I do not see too many significant improvements just differences.

does it solove the problem where the brightness setting reset itself after a while?

POI search is a major impronement.
What is the shift module? why did they replace it?

I couldn't tell you exactly what it is, but I complained because the transmission seems to get lost and not know when to shift. It hangs going up hills and somethings flutters when I want a medium downshift. It reminded me of the tranny on my old Ford Taurus SHO right before it failed. My dealer spent time with BMW tech doing all kinds of tests and the shift module was the only thing acting up.

I don't have any know issues with my navigation but I just scheduled an appointment to get the newer version since it is covered under the warranty.
