That's a bit above The Challenged One's abilities. Maybe Michelle can help.

Please excuse my ignorance, but how did you find out exactly where your new ride is i(was, at this point, since it is now built) in the production line? All I can get from BMW is that my X6 is somewhere in the production cycle.

Get your production number from the dealer. You can then either create a log on at bmwusa to track it or you can call the 800 number.

And if you don't want to talk to the operator (she never understands what I'm saying):

Dial number
When operator starts talking, press 2
When operator starts talking, enter production number
When operator starts talking, press 1
Listen for reply

EDIT: I just checked the order status on my BMWUSA website and it matches what the operator said on the phone. It also finally has the correct color of my car. This time however, it doesn't show my selected options (sometimes it does, sometimes it doesn't).

Friday the 13th.....our lucky day. I just confirmed PCD for my X5 35d on the 13th.

I'm pleased to be in such good company....I'll be bringing my daughter for her 17th b-day, so I'll be on my best behavior.......

It's a long enough wait already, now I have your ticker to deal with too......

ciao !

Many thanks for the info. Very helpful. I have the production number, and have been trying to track it online at BMWUSA. But now that I know that I can actually speak to a live person about the status of my "in production" X6, I'll give it a try tomorrow. BTW, have you noticed that for "build your own" on the BMW website, they are still showing the 2009 model configuration?

This kind of wonderful comraderie I'm reading on these forums is what I have missed ever since I left BMW back in 1990 to go to the dark side with Mercedes. MB club was a real bore. I wish that I could take factory delivery of my X6, but my bizarre job schedule won't allow it. Maybe a drive down to SC to take the two day driving school will be possible when we have our next vacation. Has anyone on this forum ever taken the driving course down there?

BTW, the 2009 328i with rear wheel drive that my dealer has loaned me to drive until my X6 arrives handles better in the rain that my retired 2009 Mercedes E350 4-matic. Go figure.
