I stayed there for three nights two years ago with the National Symphony on tour, and it was fabulous. Prices are pretty reasonable, according to their website. Phone number there is 864-421-9700. We've toured all over the US in my 40 years in the orchestra, and this hotel is as good as any and better than most.

BTW, got word that my 2010 X6 5.0 has left the plant and is now on its way to the dealer in Pennsylvania. Should get it early next week. It's only been four weeks since I placed the order. Not too shabby.

Thanks for the recommendation, but BMW puts you up in the Marriott as part of the deal.

Congrats, I guess you're going to beat me to the write up.

Thank you. Very best of luck to you with your new X6. I've owned many BMW's and Mercedes over the years, but this X6 has me more excited than anything ever has.

I didn't know that BMW takes care of the hotel if you pick up your vehicle at the plant. Truly a class act. I hope to be able to drive down to Greer for a plant tour and driving school asap. But my symphony schedule is so weird that I can't get away at more "normal" times. Bummer.

This will be my 4th BMW and I'm more excited than I've ever been. Did you get the performance upgrade? :zoom: I can't wait for 440 horses....

No, I didn't go for the performance upgrade since I went with the 19" all season tires because I drive up to Northern Michigan so often. Dealer felt that unless I went with the performance tires, extra power would probably not be worth it. He races BMW's, so I took his advice. Still have to wonder if I should have done it. But I did go with all packages (sport without 20" wheels) and all options including soft close doors, active ventilated seats, HUD, premium sound system (which isn't really very good but better than the base system) etc. Even with the standard 400 horses I won't have much opportunity to really drive it around here in the DC metro area. To be honest, one of the reasons I went with the X6 vs. a 535xi was I needed to have something bigger so that the turkey drivers around here won't be able to run me off the road any longer. DC is full of a lot of angry people who take their anger out on the road. This will be my 10th BMW, but first since I got rid of my 1989 530i (which was a real dog) and went to Mercedes.

I hear you on wheels. If I was getting 440 horses I would get 21" wheels to really enjoy the handling of the car. And a separate 19" set for winter.

cmyX6go is getting these wheels.

I'm not screwing with wheels....yet. I don't like any of the options enough to push me to the other side. Now, if Rastagurl's wheels would fit, I'd definitely consider it.

But I still have the issue of them fitting in the track at the car wash. I asked about the 325s and was told they wouldn't fit. I'll have big wheels on a dirty X....

So unless I get offers for someone to handwash my girl twice a week, I'll be driving on chick wheels.
