Hi All,
My X5 should be making it's way up the mouth of the Yarra today - hooowwweeeee! I think I will be getting my car around the 15th of August. All very exciting, but on a more serious note INSURANCE. Just got a quote from BMW finance and was wondering if anyone has compared costs with any of the other insurance companies. |

In regards to Insurance, up here in Sydney AAMI was the cheapest for me by $130 followed by BMW Insurance, however on paper BMW insurance seems to be a better choice, BMW Ins had a few small details included in their policy that I liked, It seemed well thought out for BMW owners,,,. |
Thanks Kasyd,
Am currently watching Melbourne Port Authority webcams to see if I can spot the ship coming in. Waiting waiting |
BMW Insurance
I'll 2nd BMW Insurance (underwritten by Allianz)
http://www.bmw.com.au/common_content...otorPolicy.pdf I assume you have purchased your X5 because it's the best ..... cover it with the best insurance! Schanck |
I'll third that...
We found on average BMW insurance was $3-400 cheaper than GIO, SGIO etc so stayed with them. Be careful in the second year though. They keep the premium the same but drop the insured value from agreed/new to market value and it's not clear in the renewal. If you are leasing that may mean you suddenly have a $30k shortfall should anything untoward happen. We went direct to Allianz in the second year for an agreed value at a further saving in premium. Alternatively, you can keep a protected value or something depending on who your finance is with... Cheers |
Fourth that... it means you are guaranteed the repairer will use genuine parts... also includes a cheap Windscreen excess free one per year and a hire car option .. it was slightly more than NRMA for me but had a $500 excess vs. a $1200 for NRMA....!!!
