DMS re-map

Pick up my car this morning, it's noticable with extra power and I feel it's more "quite & less vibration" after DMS.

Did they give you a warranty?

So it really is a bit of a risk isn't it?

Don't DMS claim that their tune is not detectable by BMW?

If you don't mind me asking, how new is your X5?

Is it worth the money?

Yes, they claim its undetectable by BMW. To be honest, I don't think so.

I've only put 16000KM so far.

I can't see it's worth the money or not as I pick up the car yersterday.

Gents ...need some advice please !

My current 3 month old 35d is officially dead ..BMW Aus have admitted it needs a heart transplant given the ongoing issues from new (too many to list).

They are offering a new replacement which will be the 2010 model (upgraded iDrive etc) with a few more features (innovation pack) of which I;ll split the bill...

all sounds good so far but they are suggesting delivery end of March (will is likely then to slip to April I suspect).....

lets face it ..LCI is coming and I'm wondering if I should just wait and order the 40d or even take a look at 50i ......

other option might be to look at 2010 4.8i as they'd likely do a good deal ...

what would you guys do? :dunno:

Sorry to hear about your 35d but it sounds like it's best gone. I reckon you should wait and look at one of the update models ... either of the two diesels, or 35i. The 50i will be thirsty and it likes premium (98RON ideally) ... ouch!! Of course the 35i also prefers 98RON but it won't drink like the 50i.

Thanks

Yes, I'm wondering how the 35i will go ..it sounds like a good balance between economy and smooth performance ....

any idea when they are due to land in Aus? I suspect I'll need to strike some sort of weird deal with BMW Aus as it could mean holding on to what we have now until around June :(

The again it does mean I could just order some things that I wish I had in the first place - such as comfort seats ..

The new 35i engine is different from the current 35i engine which had twin (parallel) turbocharges. The new engine has a single twin-scroll turbocharger plus Valvetronic where variable valve lift replaces a conventional throttle. Valvetronic is not new to BMW but the combo of turbocharging and Valvetronic is. If the new 35i is as good as the old 35i, it will be a ripper. Personally, I'm interested in the 40d.

Yes - 40d will be the way to go

I think the 35i will be great for most ..but the 40d will be better in-gear / rolling drive at its a torque monster compared to 35i (400Nm vs 600Nm)
