wonder if anyone is going to buy the x5m and convert the body back to the aero kit and the wheels to 215 or 214....

Thoughts?

Edit: IMO, both the 214 & 215 wheels look better than those shown on the X5M.. which is unfortunate.

Personally, I don't like the style 214 wheels, too floral and un-sporty design to my taste. Probably 215s or even style 128s, nice 5-spoke design, simple and easy to clean. No nest of spokes in every direction. X6 M wheels are not bad either, but everyone is entitled to their taste.

Someone who has time can photochop these wheels on X5 M.

214s look like a pain to keep clean--the 5 spoke design to me are nice and simple.

- it must suck to have to parallel park a nice car like that amongst crap cars who probably don't give a $H!t about yours.
---> speaking of which, anyone know if http://www.bumperbully.com/ would work on an E70 since the tailgate closure is a bit higher than a normal trunk? Know another product? I'm getting rid of my beater car for good so I have to take this thing into the warzone known as NYC sometimes. I'd only use it while parallel parked.

- it definitely is not a step up in terms of looks but they probably had to compromise (smaller/lighter wheels, the air vent, and the traditional M-look bumpers & exhausts)

Just off the phone w/ my dealer, base of X5M = $85,400 (didn't see this elsewhere - sorry if re-post). She was reading it off a BMWNA udpate dated April '09.

Order late Sept - early Oct. with fairly quick delivery (+/- 4 weeks).

This 'standard' (no disrespect to Jumpman) X5 looks superior to the 'M' IMO

I see a lot of "wheel criticism", but I would think (it only stands to reason) that once it hits the dealers, we will all have our pick of 18" through 21" configurations from the dealers, as well as a choice of rim designs. So I'm not getting why some folks are so fixated on the pre-production rim photos?
