OEM Ballasts are D2S plugs so if you are using them with those H7 rebased bulbs in your pic you would need the D2S to AMP adapters - probably some Canbus error cancellors from TRS as well - you'd also be highly recommended to get proper XB35 H7 bulbs from TRS in a better (brighter) color temp than 8000K - Not terribly much is needed if you are keeping the H7 projectors, again, if you have them open I'd recommend putting a proper xenon projector but its up to you and your budget.

Want to go with the Morimoto Evox-R's that take D2S's - already have these things open, what's $150 bucks for a decent set of projectors. Have a spare set of Osram's from my E39 I can use.

^Now we're talking about good stuff by doing the projectors (they bolt in as was mentioned previously) - may as well source OEM ballasts then so that you have the boot on there and can integrate with the back covers included with the unit

Actually - if its easier and more cost effective I'm fairly certain that the boot on the D2S Morimoto ballasts will seal the hole on the low beam covers nicely

Now that I got a bunch of spare inverters in the mail - I attempted to light them up again. Same deal - high beam halo was lame, half lit and purple.

So i took it out of the halo ring, cut off the heat shrink and noted they didn't solder, but used crimp connectors. I took those off, cleaned up the short ccfl lead, and wire wrapped it. Came back to life - poor chinese workmanship. I'll hit it with a dab of solder tomorrow at work. I still have the 2nd set coming in the mail.

Fun to tear into this stuff.

^You know what, I remember the same thing happening when I test fired the CCFL rings back when I got my lights and before my retrofit - one ring was half lit and purple, I chalked it up to a bad inverter. Figured I was switching to LED rings anyway so didn't think about it much.

Glad to see you got them fixed up, with a good connection those CCFL rings should outlast the vehicle itself pretty much, they rarely fail

Better - but could be a shitty tube. Found out they bend quite easily when you apply heat - I can always reshape my own now with this little discovery!

Why didn't you do the DEPO headlights with LED halos?

Few reasons - They're about $700, personally didn't like the projector shroud, I have stock halogens, so modification is necessary anyway, and.. they're about $700.

I've already begun the upgrade to these assemblies which consists of
  • Morimoto ExoX-R D2S Projectors
  • Morimoto D2S HID Kit
  • COB LED Halos

Total cost into the conversion, including the headlights is under $500, while getting some of the best parts available in a complete, custom build.
