I think I understand the suggestion, however, the Seicane harness connector in the rear with the white wire is not the same as your photo. The top row is green, white gray, purple rather than as you posted and it is not the connector with the flip up lock. The only connector I have in the rear with the flip up lock has only 4 wires that are green, black, yellow and green.

I see no reason the harness on the 9 inch Seicane would be any different they both do the same thing.

Your harness doesn't look anything like mine. On that end my harness has one plug not two. The radio module is completely bypassed on mine. You just connect the one connector to the factory connector you remove from the radio module in the hatch area.

That's why I took my radio module completely out since there wasn't anything hooked to it once I finished the install.

As you can see here the plug on the left if the factory harness and the one on the right is the seicane harness.

Yes I have the plug on the left one the one on the right. They are connected to each other. No sound at any time. I used to have sound for 20-30 seconds--not any more. This sucks.

Just curious bcredliner, why do you have an illumination wire in the rear? Is it at all possible you have the harness swapped front to rear? Have a look at the front wiring and see if the colors match crows rear colors.

*EDIT* Nevermind, after looking some more I see a different connection all together up front with Navigation. So hard without being there and seeing the whole picture...

Since I had sound for 20-30 seconds when I first did the Seicane install and I don't have sound at any time now I am wondering if there is a blown fuse. Is there a fuse for the DSP amp?

I understand where to connect the wire up front. Where do I connect it in the rear or how do I find the correct wire to connect it to in the rear. Are you still saying to connect it to the white wire in the original BMW harness that connects to the Seicane harness?

I don’t know if there is a separate fuse for the dsp.
But fuse 75,76 and 82 i the hatch area is for the radio/Audio system. All is 5amp

The 20 seconds of sound is normal if the ncs expert editing is needed we mentioned earlier.

If its set to nav which it is right now it is designed to shut off again when it doesn't see the nav display.

Editing it to think its a mid in place of a nav setup will make it stay on.

I wont be on much today as the power is still out. Its 47 degrees in my computer room right now and I am typing on my notebook computer in the dark. I moved the wifi and the dsl modem to the generator connection so I could get online and check on things.

So I may not reply to much today

I tried to go back to the original setup. Either there is a new problem or the wiring was wrong. I couldn't get the nav screen to show any info. It will light up but it is more like a glow. I can switch the radio on and off. There is no sound. My guess is 2 wires in the blue connector are not in the correct number slot but I could have damaged it attempting the Seicane sure thing fix.


I now have the Seicane install at the point where it was with no sound. Recall that I had the 20 seconds of sound the first time I hooked up the Seicane. I think I lost it when I tried the Seicane fix which was to connect the nav monitor to the Seicane harness in the rear. Also recall their directions were as clear as mud so I may have misunderstood and done it wrong.

Something is different from the first installation attempt of the Secaine or I would have the 20 seconds of sound. "Here I am, stuck in the middle with you."

I think the best route out is to troubleshoot to having the 20 seconds of sound as the baseline.

Trying to get back to the where I was before I purchased the Seciane now involves moving wires in the blue connector again. Right now the wires are in the slots as per the diagram in this thread. I've done everything else. The odds of causing another problems by moving the blue connector wire are not in my favor.

Seems to me it is better that I troubleshoot back to getting 20 seconds of sound with the Seicane since there are fixes from there that don't involve using the blue or white connecters that go into the nav screen. I haven't messed with any other wires. Thoughts?
