This question is for hayaku or anyone who may have an answer.

You seem to be pretty knowledgeable in all things cars/racing. Would it be a better design if it was welded as a single unit instead of riveting and bolting it together?

I am currently in the process of designing a strut bar for my X. I own a machine shop and have a mill that is currently doing nothing so I figured I would take a shot at it. I like to know if there are any special considerations i should take note of in the design.

TIA

Can someone post the installation directions for this? I have one of these on the way...I'm wondering whether you need to re-align the X after installing this bar or if the strut towers stay put? What is the torque for the strut tower bolts? Does the installation require removal of the washer tank to get to that third strut bolt that's kind of underneath it?

it really take about 10mins to install total very simple, alos the bar does not have any bend its very solid.

Out of curiousity, what performance/handling benefit does this "brace" provide? Will it be noticeable improvement in daily driving or only at upper end of driving?

Thanks.

Wow you resuscitated a very old thread. That is an AFE CAI you see in that pic. I have one too. Look for the strut brace on eBay. I think they're selling for more now. Good luck. :p
