A few questions because this is confusing.

1. What is their website? Can't find it anywhere.
2. Without knowing how you bought it (see above) it's hard to give you advice on what your recourse can be since we don't know their policies. If you paid with paypal, you might be happy to know they almost always side with the buyer.
3. A quick thread search shows other people have dealt with them and have negative experiences (not all of course) ... so your guard should have been up at the very least.
4. Another thread shows the installed running boards and actually they look pretty good IMHO. The engraving also looks completely different from yours and a lot better.
5. Yours are either installed in reverse, or backwards, or something. It's hard to tell because the photos don't show the entire running board. Post better pics please.
6. Frankly I think we are all amazed you didn't inspect them before installation. They are completely off from what I can tell and frankly look bad.
7. If in fact their official published policy is no returns on installation, then you are screwed. Try buying a special order electronic part from BMW, installing it, realizing then that it doesn't work in your car, and returning it.

hi X5 Meister.

1. They do not have an internet site. under construction.
2.I agreed via email about the purchase.. After seeing that a loooot of users on this forum was very pleased with the running boards.
3. Did not find any negative comments about them before i purchased the RB.
4. They do indeed.
5. It is not possible to mount them in reverse or wrong in any other way.
6. Indeed they are.. I was really excited about getting them mounted, the engravings seemed a bit off at first, but thought maybe it would look different when mounted.. Sloppy on my part.
7.Have not heard about the non return policy.. And it is not exactly a oem electronic part..
8. And that would be.?

1. In that case, it's good for you. Where is their published return policy?
2. Ok
3. Some people weren't pleased with a gauge ring purchase I believe and had issues with him.
4. ok
5. ok
6. Agreed.
7. ok

BTW, it seems BMW NA filed a lawsuit on them, which is why their site is down.

Got a new answe from Wayne today..

He is insisting the RB are the same as all of them.. Yeah, right..

Here's the reply.:

As we replied earlier. The product is the same product and they're made from the same place and same machine. We already offered you a courtesy credit of usd$30 for this matter. As I replied earlier, this credit doesn't mean that we shipped you a faulty or defective product.
This item is the same as what we've been selling. We're offering the credit as courtesy to the customer but doesn't mean that we did anything wrong in this transaction.

Let me know your thought on it. I believe no other vendor would even bother replying or even offer credit like this for situation like this.

Wayne @ Bavarian Motorwerks

Ekvals,
You didn't mention how much you paid for the running boards (unless I missed it somewhere). Just curious how painfull this is going to be in the event Bavarian M/works don't do the right thing, apart from the lousy $30. Also what is the story with installing the product then trying to return??

As per their response to you, their are some more than obvious faults with the product they sold you. It is clearly faulty and defective, everbody here knows that. For mine the fact that they are offering a 'courtesy credit' for $30US they are admitting fault even though they state they don't.

Maybe show them the attached pics and hopefully they'll appreciate what it is exactly that you are referring to. I noticed on the etching that apart from the 5 looking like an S, the actual X is wrong as well. The X on the badge is made up of 2 bars, one is thick the other thin.

I hope paypal back you on this one. Keep us informed of Bavarian M/works next move/response.
