Problem with running boards from bavarian motorwerks

Hi.

I got my aftermarked RB's from bavarian motorwerks with the x5 logo on them. I saw pictures of the boards, and got the email to wayne from another post on the forum.

I installed the boards yesterday, and at first sight i really liked the look.. I actually prefer these ones from the oem ones.

At a closer look, i saw there was something wrong with the engraved part.

I sent an emaill to wayne and he sent me the following picture of how they are supposed to look.:

Then i sent a shot from each side of my car back to him:

As you can see the 5 is clearly upside down, also, the x on one side is not as it should.
It looks more like XS then X5..!!

Wayne responded with this message:
"Erlend,

That's just how the product is and if you check the picture I sent you, it's the same thing. When you asked us for the etched X5 running boards, you didn't request for the pictures. We assume you already know what you're looking for. Thus, I don't consider it's our mistake.
Besides, if you don't like it, you shouldn't install it. In that case, we can still accept return with refund less shipping fee."

Is he seeing the same pics as me.?

I sent a reply saying that i don't agree with him. I mean, why would i want RB with XS engraved on them for a X5.???

He replied, still not taking responsible, saying i can not return the RB since i have installed them, but he can give me an 30us storecredit.

What do you think.? Should i just accept the credit.? Am i being unfair.?

Thanks for replies.

They look upside down, like they made an error when they engraved them, but now that they are installed.

Yeah, thats probably what they did..

Not that it's that obvious, but pretty effing anoying when i know about it..

Guess i'll just accept the 30us credit.. But for wayne to claim that i got what i ordered is pretty arrogant.

take your pics of your running boards and show him. If the picture in the item description being sold says x5 than he is responsible for exchanging them. just take them off and ship them back with a tracking number.

I have showed him the pics.. The same ones as in the post..

I agree, this is indeed his fault, not mine..

However, if i send them to him, 100us+ in postage, and he never picks them up, its just gonna be more hazzle then it's worth.

Hmmmmm.. Not sure what to do about this.

I couldn't find a link to their website, but compared to pictures posted in this thread, these definitely seem upside down.

Yes, you have installed them, but you should be able to take them off and send it to them. They have to do a better job of standing behind their product... the product you have bought is obviously defective, and that has nothing to do with whether you installed it or not.

This is not good enough. The product is faulty and his response not what can be expected of a reputable company.

If you paid by credit card, you can use that as a leverage, as the product is not as described.

I will add my 2 cents here. I delt with Wayne once. He was very rude and obnoxious. Therefore I will never buy anything from him nor would I recomend buying anything from him. I apologize if I have offended anyone that has a relationship with him, but that was my personal experience with him.

Good luck with the return and getting your cash refunded.

Rich

Hi.

The emails from wayne are a bit rude yeah, he is trying to make it my fault.!?!?!
For not asking for a picture of the RB. I have probably seen 30 of them here on the forum, and expected them to be like that.

Of course that is what they are supposed to look like, and he is trying to pretend that the pics i sent(above) is the same as his picture.?!?!

Im not blind either..

If he admits that this is his fault and offers me a decent compansation, i think i can live with it.. I think..

I paid with paypal.. I guess i have some rights there.?

You have some rights with paypal as well.... If he does not come up with a proper solution, I would make a claim.

This is unaceptable by any standards.

Lykke til!
