They are fantastic. The X5 currently has 84k on and it the tires still look new. Plenty of thread remaining and are fantastic in the now or slipper road conditions.

I was caught in NH during a 5" snow storm, the car had the Damaris on them and I felt very sketched. The X5 was definitely all very the place. The latitudes are leaps and bounds better in the snow. I have never felt uneasy in the snow or icy road conditions since I installed them and they still handle remarkably on a dry surface.

Transitioning from the Damaris to the Latitude was a great choice and I don't feel I lost any turning, safety or braking performance at all.

Sounds like you were really surprised that high performance summer tires don't work too well in cold and in snow.

We got our X5 4.8 about a month or so ago. We love this car! we also have a 330i and a 135i but the X5 is quickly becoming our favorite vehicle. It's the perfect combination of luxury and performance.
Quick back story: My GF is the parts and service director at a dealership. She got an '05 X5 4.4 to use as her daily driver. It was kind of beat and the sun roof wouldn't close on it's own but after about a month, we liked to so much we decides to buy it for 10k... a pretty good deal. Well while we were away for the weekend they sold it on her for 19k to some poor soul. They felt bad so they gave us their credentials for the dealer auctions. Thats where we found the 4.8... Palm Beach Fla. and had it shipped up.

We've added black grilles and hood vents, rear bumper step protection, NI-NOC'd all of the wood interior, added a phone holder and full cargo are protection cover. rubber front mats, replaced wheel center caps, replaced angel eyes bulbs with LED bulbs and replaced rear roundel

Maintenance done so far: power steering return hose, coolant expansion tank front control arm bushings and in the process of fixing the air suspension hell: replaced all of the air bags and still working out other air suspension issues.

I'd like to say that we wouldn't of been able to do a lot of this without X outpost. We are members on several BMW forums... some of them are pretty bad. This site seems to be one of the best and the members are very helpful and respectful without any flaming. That is very refreshing.

Why the hell do black grilles look good on every other color but black. I put black ones on my 4.8, only to take them off a mont later. Looks good socket. Welcome.
