even if you decide to later install the trailer module, the pins 10 and 12 have NO influence on the operation of the module - the two signals are taken in and one "combined" signal comes out on the pin 3 of the module for the purpose of trailer foglight, which is NOT present NOR wired in US spec cars...

so, whether pins 10 and 12 are inside the plug or not - makes no functional difference in trailer module operation...

it looks great but I think I will get this:

2X 9006 HB4 9005 HB3 Female Male Connectors Connector HID Plug Socket | eBay

Since its a 4 pack (2 pack of male/female) I will have a set left for you that I can send you in an envelope (not sure if you have OE hitch kit, but even if you do maybe you'd want to hook up using our install instead of jumpering pin 3)

this one looks just as good if not better - it is absolutely irrelevant which one we use, just for the nice OEM looks, that is all...

before buying it, wait for the switch, run it, make sure you get the juice in the back of the car - unless $10 is not big of an investment, considering, you already invested into the switch...

thanks for the offer on the connector... let us cross that bridge once we are there... don't want to jinx it, do we???

Well I just purchased a 10 pack of these since I hate standard butt connectors:

"Posi-Lock 18-24 Gauge connector pack"

webBikeWorld Store - Posi-Locks for Sale - webBikeWorld

I'm going to direct splice pins 10 and 12 and bypass using the 9006 connector, for now. Once we confirm it works, I can always go back and remove the posi lock connector (they are reusable many times) and get a 9006 male/female connector we referenced.

Since there are 9 in the pack, I will be needing 6 to use when I hook everything up (1 for light switch connection, 1 for LCM connection, 2 for tailgate harness connections, and 2 at pins 10 and 12) but I will send you whats left over (should be 4 left, you should be able to use the blue 14-16 gauge one for 18 gauge wire too!), just PM me your address.

These would basically look stock and if you wanted to hide them a few wraps of electrical tape would be all that would needed.

Yes since I already invested in the switch the 10 bucks isnt a big deal, but I figured I'd kill more birds with one stone on the posi locks, since I need wire connectors anyway!

interesting - i never used them before but they seem to be cool... lets get this thing underway before you part with your parts - what if it breaks in your hands, or you drop it in rain drain? once it is all settled down, then i can take the left overs

T,

We are ready to go! I have my wire taps, S8 European headlight switch came in yesterday all the way from Lithuania! And i have my 4 bushing contacts.

It's cold out and my garage isn't heated so I may not undertake this tonight, but over the weekend. However, I will update you before I go out to wire everything up and cross our fingers it works!

yes plenty of electrical tape I will just be using that with my posi-taps I should be good to go! I will start at the LCM tonight and maybe just do the front wiring and confirm the switch is working by illuminating in the cluster first, since that is easier and confirms we have a signal.

If its quick tonight I may do the rear wiring but I most likely will wait till weekend for it.
