well yeah, and if you're driving uphill it's even better, but truth is that we're not driving in a test environment where we have full control over all the parameters, and most likely, it will be dirty water sprayed on your X's a$$ as you drive on wet roads, and being without a wipper is not smart at all, especially with no mud flaps... I think it will feel like sitting on a toilet, letting hell break lose, than realise that no toilet paper is there... actually, the paper was there, but you throw it out the window, which is even more ironic...

Look all you guys have points to the rear wiper deleted. But it look clean and nice. If you want a nice, clean modded car, this is a great start off. Something easy and simple.

With the wiper delete, your boot contents are now even more visible

Now,if you said you are going to remove it for the track racing....now that would make a little bit of sense!

Just built a brand new bathroom for my father so they truck is filthy and filled with tools

the path of the wind dumps stuff on the rear window. And or the SALT mist we get here in NYC...or the rear kicks up salt mist that does dry and freeze up on the rear windows.

It's nice to see the REAR and have it clean when you want to watch for a LEO or just to check your rearside in inclement weather and see if the driver behind you is giving you proper space..

I dunno but I can think of 10 zillion ways why I would rather have a rear wiper than not.......

What so poolish about 3.0 or 4.4 compair to your 4.6is when it come to delete the rear wiper?
You think your 4.6is looks cool without the rear wiper?
I bet you mine 3.0 look better then your 4.6is

Reviving an old thread. Was thinking of doing this - 20% because it looks clean, 80% because its annoying to clean the glass avoiding it and I never used it in the 4years ive owned the X.

Theres a few products available from the VW community (urotuning and ECS) that offer the plug but no guarantee its the exact size. To Ricky Bobby and BMWX54.4 can and anyone else thats done this, can you confirm which plugs you used?

Ricky Bobby will become famous soon enough
I ordered a free sample from this company, however I've recommended like 2 other people since then to do the same thing lol!

Caplugs - Home - Caplugs .... They make automotive plastics, plugs and caps as the name implies.

Here is the one I bought - "Button Plug with flush type head"

BPF-1 1/8-60.431.531.181.1300000000.02-.18

N/A
Check the box that says "sample" and add to cart, they will send you quantity of 2 for free as a sample.

You're welcome. Plug fits flush in the hole, no glue is necessary, trust me once its popped into place it's not going anywhere, as the website states "stays in place unless deliberately removed", its watertight.

Had my rear wiper deleted over a year now, no regrets, no issues, love the look, also the rear wiper gets in the way when cleaning the car anyway. I keep all my glass clean, clayed and sealed anyway so it doesn't get that filthy, but if my rear window is dirty enough to where I'm having trouble for visibility, it's either:

A) Time to take out an MF rag and clean ALL the windows with glass cleaner

or

B) Time to wash the whole car

z168 go for it and have no regrets. Let me know how you do if you order the free sample!
