Huge fight over this mod
Over the years of ownership, I never really used the rear wiper, so I think deleting it won't be an issue.

Anyone tried this mod?

if it ain't broke, why remove it....

I've only had my X for 3.5 years, but I've gone thru three wiper blades/arms in that time. The first one's rubber was failing and the arm was loose, so I bought one off Amazon. It never made good contact with the glass, so I tried the E70 blade/arm.

Problem there, too, with contact, but it was better, so I left it on for about 1.5 years, before it got bent down by my semi-feral cats on the property. I re-tightened it several times, using Loctite or epoxy, and lastly with a setscrew, but the inner splines on the arm (made from cheap pot-metal were gone.

So, I reinstalled the older Amazon E53 arm (I keep old stuff for emergency spares), super-glued and super-tightened it, and it lasted a very short time before the cats bent it down, several times. It too became stripped-out.

I was about to order a cheap Amazon wiper delete kit, but I knocked over my box of rubber vacuum caps, while working in the trunk. I tried a couple on the wiper arm post, and decided to just glue one on it (to protect the splines, which were still OK). Good enough for me, since I or the next owner might decide to try installing another wiper in the future (me, if the semi-feral cats move on, or a future owner...if any...decides to use it). Cost= $0.11, USD.

You deleted the rear wiper but not the racks? I deleted the racks and kept the wiper. Rear window collets way too much garbage on it.
