For the mic jack, not sure. Hopefully it is for the mic. As I said I don't have the new model as you have. I hope to get my new units this weekend.
My TV worked in Analogue mode but picture was snowy. There was NO antenna provided hence non was installed except the one for the radio. When I get my unit back from the dealers, I will experiment on plugging in an antenna setup into the 3.5 female earphone jack at the back. Then, I will move the antenna around, if there will be significant changes in the picture reception quality - whether bad or good, I will be convinced that that particular plug is for the antenna!

REGARDING THE BLUETOOTH MIC:

I suddenly realized that maybe...the MIC I've been trying to plug into the Hualingan's back 3.5 earphone jack is not compatible with the system. Ive been trying to plug in this type of MIC JACK coming from the Alpine EX-10 ipod integration and bluetooth kit (NOTICE THAT THIS MIC ONLY HAS 2 WIRES:

I bought a new external MIC from the store today used for PC's. Tested it on my PC and was able to record my voice. This particular MIC JACK has 3 wires on it:

I hope this will work on the Hualingan! We'll keep you posted.

What's the letter "T" on the tape label attached to the wire???

another reseller said..."HI, THANKS FOR YOUR INTERESTING,,,
THIS CONNECTOR IS FOR THE TV ANTENNA , WHICH IS NOT INCLUDED WITH IT. YOU NEED TO BUY IT FROM SOMEONE ELSE BECAUSE I DON'T OFFER IT.
AND FOR THIS TIME I'M OUT OF STOCK FOR THREE WEEKS

I'm extremely confused now!!!

In the previous picture you posted below, what is this antenna for? Maybe this mates with the mysterious jack beside the white ipod connector???

Hi there, that cable you have circled next to the iPod connection is the Antenna port for the Inbuilt Tuner, not an External Mic Port

Which such as my internal mic sucks ass inside my E39 Hooligan unit. I got mine 2 days ago so it should have all of the updated stuff on it and still no Mic.

Anybody know how to use the 'Music' 'Photo and 'Video' functions on this unit, whenever i put in my 32GB SD it takes me to the SD menu however i would like to use the Audio Menu to access the files on it, however it does not show up when i try to browse for it

Ohh also im a member of Bimmerforums so you can see my install pics in the E39 Section etc, however im having an issue with the iPod cable sound, its all hissy and makes random noises when nothings playing/ song changes, it does not happen on any other function, only iPod. I have tried 2 ipods... touch and iPhone same issue on both, i have a feeling i could have a dudd cable. Anybody know where i can get a replacement iPod cable / know what the correct name of the cable is? is it a DIN9 iPod cable or?

I wan't somebody to start making themes etc for this, i can't wait to see an iDrive style menu theme

Is the Antenna port you are referring to a 3.5mm EARPHONE JACK LOOKING CONNECTOR? (Female?) I was informed that other Hualingan units (non E53's) had TV Antenna connectors looking similar to the GPS Gold colored plug. I'm just making sure. Thanks by the way.

How's the audio quality of the internal MIC? I'm planning on dismantling the thing and rewiring the MIC! I'm 2 steps away

Try using a smaller SD card - a 2gb or 4gb. I think these units were not built to take in big sd cards.

Have you had any luck with the SD cards?

It works in the normal SD menu, all the songs show up however i don't really wanna use that! haha

The internal mic is terrible quality, people on the other end can't hear me

Yes that 3.5 Jack is actually the input for the Antenna for the Inbuilt TV tuner! which is stupid, its gonna be a hard task finding one of those antennas!

wally, where did you get yours again?

Seems odd that tv-in-motion would be selling what looks like the hualingan, but they have a different, super version...
(not questioning your purchase romeo, obviously your waiting for a great product, I just would be even more confused about these units if they look the same but now made by different companies)
Am I completely way off on this and am behind a little bit on this thread, or
