My OCD costs me a lot money sometimes, it's not a good thing to have when you are a car enthusiast. My friends think I'm nuts when I go crazy aligning and using OEM bolts and hardware on areas of the car that no one will ever see because it gets covered or whatever but still....as long as I know it's not right I won't be able to sleep.

Flip all six it's still symmetrical :-). I considered if I should concern myself about mangling the nuts if I hit something under but it's such small odds and I have a right angle grinder in case I'd have to cut off a mangled nut.

Having owned an e83 with 4 stiffener plate bolts with CAPTIVE nuts, I was first surprised to find 6 bolts on the e53. When I realized they had loose nuts, I was disgusted!

AM.

Right up until you strip one of those "disgusting" nuts - then you'll be VERY pleased they are loose and not welded into the sub-frame!
