Like the saying about spilled milk. Too late to cry over it. Fortunately they were recovered panes we were going to find a place for (hunting cabin) not new as that would have been a fortune. Tragic loss though and silly me I put all the glass into one garbage can which the waste removal guys couldn't lift. Funny that. I once had a wind gust push over an extended 40' ladder we were moving to a new position! Missed a car by a couple feet!

Had car go into ews screw you mode and it wouldn't clear. Checked voltage and it was fine, tried again same same GI so I checked voltage again and it died... (new battery) opened the back and low and behold, the battery place had broken the stud!! Luckily I happen to know many bad words in Arabic so off I go parts shopping.

Got sick of waiting for Bilsteins to come into stock so took advice from AussieXer and ordered a new bag only as an interim repair for the wife's collapsed front strut (blown bag) on the 4.8is...

Removed the strut in a few minutes... easy peasy... then the old bag is seized on the strut shaft....

Surgical removal with hammer, rotary penetration tool and rotary scalpel...

Two hours of utter frustration... but got it apart in the end and now contemplating the put back together over a Corona...

I'm calling it an even fight so far ....

Aesthestics, clarity, protection. It's a no brainer the lowers, door mirrors or stuff that will oxidize, no matter how much you polish/seal/coat on. On the E53, due to the sill mouldings, it is a no brainer to wrap the lower doors.

Just do keep in mind, for custom installs, these guys are literally taking Xacto knives and are are scoring the film - more often, they score the film right off the paint. ~~you don't see the mistakes as the film masks it~~, but sometimes, they score right into the paint. You will never be the wiser, until you remove the film due to age, etc. Just fwiw.
J, I hear you. Fortunately Xpel had a template on file for the aero package trucks. I was shocked. Some film was cut on the truck but the majority of it was done off of it. The film has a 10 year warranty and I doubt it will even have to come off then as this truck is usually parked under the car port or in the garage so sees less sun exposure than your typical south Texas vehicle.

If there are some scratches after the film eventually does need to come off... then I guess it will have to get painted again. What are you gonna do? At least it will give me 10+ years of majority protection

If so, I'm not sure how I feel about it. :

Just a heads up on Bilsteins as I got an email from one of the places I buy from PRICES ARE GOING UP. I think it was like 15-20%

They said order now and the would ship if in stock, if out of stock they would still honor the price and ship once in stock.

I have been very happy with the Blau Shocks that I put on 5yrs ago and are still in great shape

Smart! I figured I would get some use out of them while I was waiting for my new set of tires to northeast delivered: bad move! Made it about 100 miles before one of the unused spares completely self destructed at 75mph on the freeway. At least I had the "just in case" thought to put them on the back axle. (them = one from my X5 one from wife's X5)

Installed the back up camera in preparation of the upcoming Android HU install.

Will try to wrap the wire with red tap or something. Can't be seen when closed though...
