Replaced the rear cover on my LH side Dynamic Xenon headlight. I did it without removing the unit from the car. I am really surprised I was able to get the bottom outboard screw seated and tightened. I started it by hand taped to a T20 socket. I then attached a swivel ratchet extension, and a long extension to tighten. I couldn't believe it actually worked. Cover is on nice and tight. Only thing that gave me a little issue was the wire clip on the inside of the rear cover. I did not install it on the new one as I don't see what good it would do in such a tight space, there's no where for the wires to go anyway. Here's to hoping condensation doesn't rear it's ugly head again.

BTW, there is a plastic insert that attaches the pedal from the base that can be separated from the accelerator assembly but could not find just the part online so went with the fix mentioned above.

Sorry for the side way pictures and dirt.
Need a shop vac on that floor! Great fix as that part has to be $400+

Thanks for the parts look up link, as i have not seen that one before. If you want cheaper part source see BMW of Fairfax https://www.bmwoffairfax.com/order-parts-online.htm
The site is slow and clunking but $$ talks.

I just checked that same part there. $142 vs. the $128 I found. I also was able to get my heated wheel for $630.00 from there.

I pull mine out all the way to the headlight washers. Then I can get to the lower outer through the gap of the fender where the turn signal lives.

Hahaha, it’s clean now. The fix cost me $3 and and I do believe will outlast life of the car. I am not blaming the gas pedal design since it lasted 199k miles before breaking.

If I do not have to spend money on my current project car (190E 16V fuel pump), I would have just bought the part. I like the challenge of fixing it, making it better at the same time saving money.
