Yep, I just found some large 1/2" lag bolts and ran 'em in hard with my 1/2 impact wrench. That was a lot easier.

Removing it is not hard, can do it blindly and just use an impact, for the swaybar bolts I just removed the wheels for easier access.

Now mounting it back on, used a jack to hold up the rear and used a magnet to hold the front nut till I was able to engage a few threads.

Pulled all the shadow line trim off the parts truck in prep for wrapping and then going on mine. The trim on the red truck is in horrible shape.

Also put the rear badge holder back on. I like it... but doing the "DINAN" and "X5" badges to match are going to be fun.

Originally the Dinan badge came with a revised X5 badge.

I saw an Audi Q7 that they were wrapping the trim on while I was picking up my X. Looked really nice. Owner said their rep from Xpel was there and wants a 4.8is now after seeing mine. Told him "Good luck..."

I feel for you guys who have to work on your stuff outside. I gave that up at 23 and will never do it again unless it is because I broke down away from home. You have my sympathies.

I have HUGE disagreements with PPF.....and I've been using it back when 3M was king.

Aesthestics, clarity, protection. It's a no brainer the lowers, door mirrors or stuff that will oxidize, no matter how much you polish/seal/coat on. On the E53, due to the sill mouldings, it is a no brainer to wrap the lower doors.

Just do keep in mind, for custom installs, these guys are literally taking Xacto knives and are are scoring the film - more often, they score the film right off the paint. ~~you don't see the mistakes as the film masks it~~, but sometimes, they score right into the paint. You will never be the wiser, until you remove the film due to age, etc. Just fwiw.

I had a gust of wind blow over about 5 sheets of 1/4" plate glass window, about 4x6 feet in size. I kinda feel your pain.
