Cleaned the MAF sensor and used the Turtle Wax Restorer Kit on the headlights.

Well, replaced the ball joint and Swing supports again on the 4.4. Started to hear a knock going over bumps again. Soooo... Ball joints and Swing Supports from URO suck BTW. I know I know, they were cheap. They last 4 months. The pair of joints cost me $16 and the Swing supports cost $30 total. So I ended up putting the Meyles in.

And what did I get? Well things were going smooth until the ball joints. Popped the Tension strut to Hub Carrier with my new and correct tool instead of a pickle fork. That bang scared me for a sec because the threads shattered off. WHAT A BANG! So got my E12 torx bit out and started turning. They were seized??? I tried this new stuff I got a Bimmerfest, CRC Freeze off. The rep swore by it. So tried it. Let it sit... Tried again... Bang, the head snapped. AWESOME!!! Used PB Blaster for the other nut, came off no problem. (Not trying to compare the 2 here, just sayin') Now I had a problem. Start looking in the tool, found a bolt out.. Didn't work... So now... Whipped out the center drill bit, .175 drill bit, .250 drill bit, .312 drill bit, and 50mm .360 tap. 1 1/2 hours to drill the hole out and retap the hole. I left the hub and everything intact. Just jacked the X higher in the air and got under it. The got to the other side, bolts came out just fine, now the ball joint was seized in the socket. PB Blaster, a drift, and 4lb sledge hammer did the trick. 45mins to get that sucker out. Uhg... But got the Swing supports in and the new ball joints. Drove it, no knocks. GREAT!

Now tomorrow the fun starts. Full detail on her. I mean taking everything out, steam cleaning, washing engine bay, Iron cut, clay, Klasse Twins, Ultimate Compound, and then wax. Gonna take the wheels off and clean the wells out. So much grease and crap slung in there. Its gonna be suh-weet.

I'm gonna surprise my father with it this weekend. I'm gonna give him the 4.4i.

I thought it was self explanatory about what to do. Just have to unbolt a few nuts, and put new part in and torque down.

Its just as easy as taking the splash shield out. lol

Then again, after my VPG article, several people pm'd me asking how to take it off.

Even though I said, "If you don't know how to take a splash shield off, you shouldn't be doing this job." lol

Just got done clayin her. Damn, I know I haven't done a detail on her in about 2 years but dayummmm, the amount of iron filings on the paint!!! Thank god for Iron cut, got those suckers right out.

No dude, I don't care about the mechanics stuff. I want to see the detail stuff. lol. As in, a non "PRO" detail. And I want to see the result. Maybe I should have been more specific. lol.

Oh, damnit!!! lol. I'm almost done with the body, kind of too late to show pics, but I could do a DIY on it I suppose. Actually, thinking about it... I think Phil from Detailer's Domain has a write up on here for a home DIY'er to do a detail.
