Granted I don't crawl underneath looking for a problem so I suppose it had a tear in it...

Car was washed as well last week. No observable boot failure but it may have had a impeding tear that was opening...

Ha. Talk about placebo. Between 15-50K or so, I have done 2 bolt drain trans fluid, and 1 pan drop trans fluid. I think around 300 miles or 3000 miles on the 3rd fluid change, the trans went out on me. I can't say for sure if preventative maintenance on the trans paid off or not.

Strange to think that the "cheapest blah blah in the USA" comes with a laundry list of issues no?
You would think prices would stay low. But everything used is getting a price bump, probably aided by the stimulus money everyone has.

Hoover's bagging on BMW is long term. I think it stems from his days as a used car dealer. As mentioned, you buy the cheapest, neglected anything, and you are in for a big repair bill. Especially since, in his case, he pays people to wrench for him.

Don't really go the used route but when I did a quick lookup scan to see what was out there - kinda was looking at the #s and was scratching my head on what the market rate was - across the board on used pricing

Installed adjustable rear control arms. When I put the BC coilovers on and lowered my truck 2" they couldn't get the camber into spec on the rear. Kinda expected that would be the case. So I installed the adjustables. Just have to get it to the alignment shop now.

Purple....GP is meant for door seals.

1Z (eiszett) makes great products. I use the Cockpit, GP and others in my routine.

Yes I know but it works great on restoring flat black trim as well. I used it on my e38 exterior door pillars and rubber trim and really anything flat black that has turned grayish as well with great results. It restores and depends the flat black finish nicely.

I don't remember what 303 product is but the one I use is ATP AT-205. It keeps rubber rubbery. It definitely has an effect and prob no reason to do more than 2x a year on boots.

Purplecty, thanks for the tip! Been looking for something to brighten the dull exterior black trims of my beloved 1997 E39.
