Though it did throw a couple of evap codes. (I live at 4k feet and every time I go down to sea level, my car instantly throws "slow leak" EVAP codes, every time.)

Drill out the sample hole and solve that problem.

The test works by blowing though a 0.5mm or something hole and measures the current on the blower motor to establish what back pressure generated from the "known hole" then it pressurizes the tank and compares.

If you have a smoke tester you can prob figure out if you actually have a leak somewhere.

Possibly just open your tank to vent right away when to stop to sea level to get it to baseline?

I had a groan in the front right suspension area when turning the wheels side to side. Drop link had split rubber boot so as I had a spare set I thought I would swap it.
2 hrs later after having to saw the bolts off as the las garage that replaced them put cheap parts on I also found that the lower control arm ball joint was nearly falling apart. Didn’t have a spare so replaced it the next day.
Then the steering wheel was on the p!ss so ended up adjusting the track arms bit by bit until it was straight..
Need to get it aligned next week but it does drive straight and doesn’t pull.
All this is from pot holes in British roads.
Still have to do the other side as something is knocking slightly.

You can get a decent alignment with a string wrapped around the fastest part of the wheels. Put a 2mm spacer at the front of the fattest part of front and back wheels and dial the wheels until string is straight. It'll be slightly toe in 0.15°.

Is that how it works?

The carbon canister and all the evap pumps and equipment are under the car, behind one of the underbody panels, correct? I've never actually been under there before but I'll try that on your suggestion. I have to replace a few suspension components in the next couple of weeks so I will be under there already.

I think the evap testing gear is near the right rear wheel well. The main valve to open to the intake is at the engine intake on my e70 I'm not sure with e53.

I think they have two test hole sizes.
