Good suggestions for using contact enhancer. Especially the ability to wick into a coupled connector.

Going through the distributors list I finally found one that actually had the stuff. Crazy more expensive than deoxit gold.

I can't find my bottle I'm going to have to order another (best way to find a lost item especially tool)
It's $58 on Amazon

Pulled the head unit back out to try and re-seat all the connections. Found a pinched wire with torn insulation that may have been shorting against the frame. "Aha, that must be why the new screen won't turn on!" Taped it up, cleaned every connection with Deoxit, and reassembled.

Nope. Still blank.

Maybe when I get back from tomorrow's road trip next week I'll put the old one back in to see if I fried the new one. Hope not... The very first time I powered it up after the initial screen replacement it briefly flashed, but that was it.

I know right?

I came out in the morning and found it.
That there are zero marks, dents, etc almost makes me think they got contact then pushed, hopefully it's just the clips/connectors popped out. I don't think the bracket is bent too badly but I won't know until the weekend when I have time to work on it.

android radio and wrapped my interior wooden trim to gloss black

Friday I'm getting my alternator replaced (lasted 20 years) and a brake fluid flush (I honestly can't remember the last time I did one, I'm showing no signs of a soft pedal but decided to do this since I got new rotars/brakes a couple months ago)

Question for the folks here, how often do you get your brake fluid changed? I know BMW recommends every 2 years

Did you fill the cracks in the trim before you wrapped it....If not, and assuming you have cracks in the trim...does it show thru the wrap?

Wrapped my badly-cracked trim in matte army green. The cracks show slightly but WTF. The color seems like an odd choice but it goes well with the black interior, and I hate glossy anything inside (glare). I have enough material to do the console but haven't tackled that yet.

I haven't yet found any wood trim in the yards that isn't cracked.
