While installing a new plate and tank, I notice the transmission tank has a bent corner. Someone has taken it off prior to my refresh. Not wanting to cause further damage, I had to find a way to press it in. The clip was installed on the plate before mounting. The best tool I had handy was the clutch fan spanner. Reaching from underneath, the frame was used for leverage. One quick tug and the cooler popped in. Enough water was added to test for leaks. Blue coolant was added once no leaks were seen.

Man, you guys are making me thankful I have a manual transmission (which means no transmission cooler) I didn't realize that the tranny cooler was yet another way for this car to self-destruct.

Many cars self destruct though the tabby cooler bit usually from an internal fault that will blend the oil and coolant into a frothy milkshake and send that into the transmission and engine. They really should stay separate

New 8000k HID bulbs and LED fog lights to match. Now I can see better in the night and those fog lights enhances the appearance of the vehicle, like the newer BMWs with all LED lights .

Anyone know if there's any issue putting E70 style 214s on my 2003 E53 3.0?
I'm pretty sure they are OEM and not replicas - in which case they are 20" diameter, 10" front, 11" rear, 275/40/20 front 315/35/20 rear. Edit: I think the offsets are 37 front, 40 rear. Also I do understand I would need to get the appropriate hubcentric rings. I need to get new tires for summer and thinking of upgrading from the style 57s I have. I use this car for towing so the big wide tires would be an upgrade from that point of view. They would be expensive to buy tires for, but I hardly drive this car except to tow the camper in the summer.
