Didn't get a chance to update yesterday, but I wrapped my door trim with gloss black vinyl from www.shadowlinetrim.com
The other week I also plastidipped all of the lower trims... A little hard to tell in this pic but (plastidipped = fender piece / stock finish = sideskirt piece) Simple but effective (and inexpensive) ways to get rid of the old faded now gray trims.

Dan the plasti-dip on the trim looks great and that's a great idea man! did you just mask everything off with tape and sprayed away?

Don't see the the benefit of plasti-dipping trim. This will eventually peel off.
I treat the black trim twice a year with Maguires Endurance and it looks new even with 160k miles and over 10 years.

Dan, did you actually pull the door trim off and wrap it or wrap it on the car? reason i ask is because i was contemplating on pulling the door trim off completely for a cleaner look and want to know if its just held on my double sided tape or plastic tabs as well leaving holes in the door panel.

on E34, E36 and E39 there were holes in the door and plastic tabs that held the trim... i think E53 is same...

checkout a product called wrapcut. im doing my chrome trim to black vinyl next week. you put this down, then the vinyl. Next you just peel it back up and it will cut the excess vinyl off. no razer needed
