Sweet! Ill hopefully have time to get to it today then seeing as its a holiday up here! Lemme know how that cap fits (and what size); if it results in a cleaner look then ill be heading that route as well, without a doubt!

Ricky Bobby will become famous soon enough
happy holiday to you then sir! only thing is you might want to put some sealant around the rubber portion and on the plastic cap when you fit the two pieces together (its a snug fit though and really shouldn't be going anywhere unless you try to remove it!)

If the "sample plug" I ordered fits better, I'll let you know! The size of the hole is 1 1/8 or 28mm I believe, I was having trouble finding a plug that size, and I stumbled onto that company's website last night when doing a google search.

For 99% of us, reusing the existing hardware works perfect, however, for the 1% of us that have OCD, I hope that my sample plug will provide the ultimate clean solution Hell, if I was you I would just order a sample from them too (it's free)

Just ordered rear pads and rotors for it. These cars are expensive...even with RockAuto.

So jealous of it Dan! Tell me you got it from a junkyard or something for cheap! (the M wheels I always see are upwards of 300 bucks, been contemplating recovering mine but will cost me about the same so I'm torn on what to do)

I cant tell from the picture, but do you have to give up the heated steering wheel if you get the M/sport wheel?

Correct, M/Sport wheels are not heated.

Did the rotors and pads today. What should be straight forward was not...

Whoever worked on the car (BMW tech) before me tightened the hand brake tight enough that it wouldn't let me pull off the rotor even with the hand brake released. That set me back 15 minutes (each side) trying to figure out which way to turn to loosen the shoes more.

I think I also got a faulty or wrong model pad wear sensor. The wire boots don't fit into the original slots and is a little shorter. My brake linings light is still on even after I try to reset it by leaving the key in position 2. $10 down the drain...

Was this the reset process you used?
