Dropped my X off at the mechanics. Very sad. Then went to the dealership and bought an oil filter just so I could see the nice lady they have working at the service desk. Not as sad now and I really needed the filter.

New sleeves and piston seals for the Vanos last night....Oil filter housing gasket and intake elbow night before that.

Didn't have the kids or wife in the car. Drove it for 15 min, in flat out sport mode. Holy shit I love this car.

Too late! I have to dig out a washer from the valve cover that landed on the lower stiffening plate. I have to pick up the thermostat that sits below the coolant tank later today at the dealer...hopefully they'll have one of those so I can be lazy and dig it out next time it's up on the hoist.

Im not in any real rush; As long as I get it back together for Sunday (golf) ill be happy. I pushed back the body shop ...now it's going to get the holes in the roof filled permanently on Monday instead of tomorrow!

Aspherical heated/auto dimming mirrors. I've had them on my E39 for 10 years but just never pulled the trigger on the E53. I can't wait to go for a drive tomorrow. Normally, my commute is down the hall. Pants optional. Tomorrow, I think I'll take the 2 mile trip in to the office!

2 miles to the office! Oh man, the X and the Triumph would become such garage queens if that were the case for me, I would literally walk / ride a bike / scooter to work haha!

Now I know why your 4.8 is always so impeccably clean!

Thread relevance, I got my free samples of my rear wiper delete plug in the mail and it fits perfectly! PM me if you need the website, they actually sent me 2 in my sample pack (I busted one though on install. Good news is the fitment is very tight and weathertight as well, and best part its a free mod!

I did! Man, those mirrors are awesome! Reminds me of my E39. I was finding myself looking to the sides more than to the front! But I'm safely at a customer site waiting ever so patiently until I can run home. Or ANYWHERE!

Think I'll give it a nice wash to celebrate.
